Painters Island Caravan Park

Is situated at the start of the Murray to The Mountains Rail Trail, a bitumen sealed trail from Wangaratta to Bright.
Two big events on the local calendar are the "Wangaratta Festival of Jazz" in late October and the "Stitched Up Festival" that runs from mid June to mid July each year.

Wangaratta - Is the ideal central spot to stop, take in all the sights of the region. A short drive in a different direction each day will find the following places of interest:

North-East Victoria - Silo Art Trail is becoming very populair, Wangaratta will soon be included in this stunning display from Goorambat to the Winton Wetland's.

Beechworth & Surrounds - Is a collection of nationally significient buildings telling the story of how Australia grew and prospered. 

Benalla - Wall to Wall  murals is well worth a look, Visit the Information Centre for regular Street Art walking Tours. 

Glenrowan - Learn about the Ned Kelly siege and stories of Harry Power & Mad Dog Morgan

Milawa Gourmet Region - Home to Brown Brothers Wines & Epicurean Centre, Milawa Cheese factory.

King Valley - Discover the many wineries in the King Valley - La Dolce Vita - Wine & Food Festival is on every year in November, Salute!

Rutherglen - Enoy a taste of Rutherglen Bakery or Australia's most famous winieries,  March "Long Weekend Escape" is on every year.

Bright - Beautiful any time of the year. From the Autumn Art Festival and change of season, to the snow capped mountains in the winter.
